An epileptic man (Myshkin) returns from medical treatment abroad and finds himself in love with Nastasia. There are twists and turns as the he gets engaged to another woman (Amba) only to have an epileptic seizure. Nastasia and he get betrothed but on the wedding day she goes to her rich pursuer (Pawan) only to be killed by him. Both men wait together for the police. Ultimately, Myshkin descends into insanity. This is a 1991 made-for-French-TV 90 minute film directed by Daniel Losset' starring Caroline Laurence as the 'Venus', & Maxime Boidron as 'Lulu' (French familiar name for 'Louis'). Prague, 1920. Milena's father wants her to follow in his footsteps and be one of the first female doctors in Czechoslovakia, but she is determined to be a writer. She elopes to Vienna with the Jewish music critic Ernst Pollak, and starts a correspondence with Franz Kafka. She leaves Pollak and returns to Prague with her father, where she befriends and translates Kafka. As a journalist, Milena covers the 1923 Ruhr worker's strike and meets the communist architect Jaromir. They marry and have a daughter. Milena writes for a Marxist paper till her husband leaves for the Soviet Union.
