Realistic biography of the famous french painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This time, the focus is not on his work or his life at the Moulin Rouge (like in the John Huston's movie of the same title) but on the life of Lautrec himself, espacially his love relation with his model Suzanne (played with great talent by the marvelous Elza Zylberstein). Like in Minnelli's Van Gogh biography (Lust for life, 1957), movie director Planchon makes painting with the camera, especially in the firt hour. The times and the soul of the period (end of the XIXe century) is well respected. A boy takes in a stray dog, later finding out that its an ultra-intelligent runaway from a genetic research lab. Unknown to him, the dog is being stalked by another escaped creature that's not quite so friendly. Bantu and Chantu are two close friends and fellow collegians in an Arts & Science College in Bombay, India. Both are up to no good practical pranks and jokes, including conning their college-mates for money. Both prove that they can do anything for money and an easy lifestyle. In order to continue living a easy and comfortable lifestyle, both decide to marry wealthy girls, namely Rani and Sheena. In order to get close to them they steal identities from two females, Rose Mary Marlowe and Reshma Chowdhury, disguise themselves as females, get admitted in a Girls' hostel and start their romance with their future-brides. But fate has other plans for these two pals, as the women they are impersonating have been killed just a day after the duo assumed their identities. Their plans dashed to the ground, the hapless duo must now find a way out of this mess - that is before the police catch up to them.
