Set against an urban backdrop, "Badmaash" is a romantic thriller about Vijay, an intelligent, playful and witty lad and Priya, an RJ and a fiercely passionate Kannadiga who tries to teach Kannada and Indian culture to Non-Indians through street plays and theatrical plays. Right from their first encounter, Vijay develops a strong attraction for Priya which eventually turns to love. When everything seems perfect and romantic, the tone of the tale suddenly changes when a cruel yet highly intelligent villain comes in between them. Varala Babu (Aadi) is not good at studies and that is why his father (Tanikella Bharani) scolds him all the time. Their neighbor's son is well educated and well behaved. Everyone tells Babu to become like him and that irritates him a lot. One day he left the house because of the constant humiliation and challenges his father that he will prove himself.He leaves to Hyderabad to be successful but ends up falling in love with beautiful Muslim girl Sameera (Adah Sharma). The film brings in the collage of colours in a college, while exploring friendship, hatred, revenge, all blending into a family drama. The boy meets girl story revolves around Arjuna (Dilip Prakash), the son of a garage owner, studying in Achraya College. He meets Nandini (Ashika), the daughter of a rich businessman (Ravishankar). Both develop a liking for each other which irks Nandini's brother. The plot later takes a twist and explores Arjuna's past, finally leading to his struggle to win over Nandini.
When a couple of swindlers arrive in an off-the-map village to reap the fruits of their ill-gotten scam, little do they realise that they have unlocked the arcane spell that enshrouds a place that is anything but a safe harbour.
