This is a story of a physically handicapped but extremely well adjusted young woman named Noriko. The title role was played by Ms. Noriko TSUJI herself. The film begins with her telling her personal history in a high school classroom just before graduation. She talks about difficulties and prejudices she and her mother experienced when she entered a primary school. She was finally allowed to enter Sekidai Primary School by its head teacher who believed that she, having the disadvantage of lacking arms, had no disability. Since then her challenges started as to what she could do with her feet. Now employed in the Kumamoto Municipal office in Kyushu, this is her first professional position, and she carries it off with great skill.
Nino Monti, un commercialista pavese, incontra in autobus una donna amata nella giovinezza, Anna Brigatti, ormai sfiorita e disfatta. La rivede in concomitanza con un efferato delitto. Rob is a good man, he never promised anything or lied to either his ex or local prostitute,Lou (Davis) - he may want to keep her at arms length but he wants the best for her. He has however a detachment to life that some would find admirable, some would find strange. He and his wife live in an "open" relationship, they are quite loving and seem to have a strong relationship, but she has a young lover while he quite happily seems to stay at home reading a book when shes out. Lou, the junkie prostitute is quite puzzled, even surprised about this aspect of their relationship. He is fairly unshockable, not at all condemning of the prostitute and her lifestyle. But Lou has a very lonely life,and is looking for someone to reach out to. A quirky film from the master, John Duigan.
