A rich playboy has a large house in the countryside. One weekend he invites a fashion model. On his way to the house, he drives past a gang of crazy young men. They find out where he lives, enter the house and kill him. Eventually the model arrives... Two former ranking figures of the Axis powers schedule a deadly martial arts tournament in an isolated locale. The two rivals then race to assemble the top competitors from around the world, with Steve Hunt being the most sought after fighter. Henry Silva plays a Army Major who teams up with a tough cop (sabato) to investigate of a series of crimes that used a army issued machine gun. Lots of car chase, and action centers in a standard Italian action film. Silva, who isn't dubbed is good as usual and Sabato is a little more low key than his usual performance. Recommended. In all likelihood, a one-off revival of Wakayama's 11 film GOKUDO (SCOUNDREL) series, which originally finish in 1974. In 1926, famous evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson disappeared for six weeks. When she surfaced, she claimed that she had been kidnapped and held prisoner in Mexico. Others claimed that she was off carrying on an affair with a married man. Eventually Lasse pops up again, and disappoints all save Sven by turning tail in the face of Gunnel's love and his sense of guilt at having fathered her child....The appeal of Sven Klang's Combo lies in its utter lack of pretension, in its small town atmosphere and its vivid characterisation. One imagines that the actors were able to improvise their lines and contribute personal touches that fleshed out their roles. Their autobiographies become fiction; but fiction, as so often, also becomes truth.
