Not only is this disc a tribute to Andy Warhol, but it may also be the finest work of both Lou Reed, and John Cale. These songs feel so personal, one feels as if one is invading the very souls of each of these brilliant songwriters. While telling Andy's story they reveal much of themselves. Reed & Cale take turns covering every conceivable aspect of Andy Warhol's world. From art, work, style, childhood, fear, and envy. No stone is left unturned. One of the most haunting moments on this disc is "The Dream" by John Cale. A true masterpiece of inner terrors, and human weakness. Lou Reed shines on "WORK", "NOBODY BUT ME", and most notably on "HELLO IT'S ME". Here we can hear Lou's sadness, and longing for a friend host. "SONGS FOR DRELLA" is heart wrenching, Released in 1990, this Swedish film production is probably a nearly forgotten piece of coming-of-age art. The story is simple enough, and is about a ten-year-old boy living with only his father in a house in the countryside in the southern part of Sweden. The boy's father is a mechanic and also runs the local gas station. The boy is however more interested in nature and wild animals than in technical stuff, which makes a gap in their relationship. One evening when he is wandering alone in the forest, he finds a wounded bird. He then decides to rescue the bird and together with his best friend they build a temporary cage for the bird in a hidden place in the forest. They promise not to tell anyone of this place. The rest of the film deals with the boy's rescue mission of the bird and his relationship with his father. SYNOPSIS Leela and Bholaram are a childless couple. Leela works as a midwife, and one day assists Sunderdas' wife to give birth to twin boys. She decides to keep one baby for herself, and tells Sunderdas that his wife has given birth to one child. There are complications for the mother, and she passes away without seeing her children. Leela and Bholaram bring up Kanhaiya, while Sunderdas attempts to bring up Kishen, but is unable to do a good job. So he marries Kamini, who comes along with her brother, Ghendamal, to live at the estate. She has an illegitimate child named Ramesh from another man, and when Sunderdas comes to know of this, he is threatened and attacked, and as a result of which he is paralyzed, unable to move. Kishen is brought by Kamini and Ghendamal with lot of abuse, and intimidation, and is kept illiterate, so that he can blindly sign away whatever documents he is asked to sign. Kishen likes Radha, a servant, and is married, but the atrocities do not stop, and then Kishen runs away. Ghendamal captures Kanhaiya, who also looks like Kishen, and brings him back, not realizing that the tables are now turned against him.
