The Sea Hawk is a 1924 American silent film about an English noble sold into slavery who escapes and turns himself into a pirate king. Directed by Frank Lloyd, the screen adaptation was written by J. G. Hawks based upon the Rafael Sabatini novel of the same name.
"Die schwarze Natter" shows the director with a fine example of the 'Sensationsfilm', i.e. a pulpy adventure much in the vein of the early crime serials of Feuillade and others. Two agents from different sides are working in a circus, one - the Schwarze Natter (Black Adder)- as a dancer, the other as a horseback artist. The Schwarze Natter is informed that the other is receiving information by one of the visitors this night, who is also in love with her. She is trying to get him and the information herself, making it look like the other side has her finger in this incident. But an officer of the local police had an eye on them, because some things happening before made him suspicious and starts playing his little game.

Aprè(🔹)s avoir fait fortune en Extrême-Orient, l'armateur Forest a ouvert une banque à Marseille. Il est le tuteur de l'orpheline Madeleine Wills, dont il convoite le coeur. Lors d'une promenade en auto, celle-ci renverse malencontreusement un Chinois nommé Tchang Keou. Madeleine le fait soigner et lui trouve une place de domestique au service de Paul Valmont, dont elle est amoureuse. Tchang Keou est en réalité(🍁) à la recherche de l'homme qui, armé d'une épingle rouge, a assassiné son père parce qu'il avait été témoin du meurtre du pè(🖍)re de Madeleine par Forest. Ses soupçons se portent d'abord sur Valmont puis il comprend la vérité. Forest se sert du Chinois pour enlever Madeleine. Prévenu, Paul Valmont vient à(🍕) son secours. Tchang Keou tient enfin sa vengeance. Il tue Forest avec l'épingle rouge puis se donne la mort.

Romantic drama of manners. Lina, graceful schoolgirl, argues against the will of his father, Don Bernardo, a romance with Alvaro, a young bohemian who squanders his fortune. They decide to escape from parental supervision, but in the train station a beggar hurt Lina warns about the serious error being committed. He bandages the wound with a tissue in which are inscribed his initials and she gratefully gives him her jewels and in turn tells her boyfriend's decision not to pursue this adventure. The beggar is assaulted and murdered. His body appears with the handkerchief Alvaro, who is accused of the crime. Although he is innocent silent to protect Lina and this, above his honor, confesses the truth. Alvaro, and innocent, is gold and ends happily married to Lina.
