A couple of young university students decide to spend the day in Toledo, in order to forget a little of the routine in which they are. At nine o'clock in the morning, José(🏻) Luis waits at the Atocha station for his girlfriend, Mari Carmen. The couple has deceived their families, who have told that they will eat in the Faculty. The journey is eternal and the stay in the city, rather than surprise them, as they expected, immerses them, even more, in the monotony in which they live. Without friends, without relatives and without university partners, the couple will spend twelve hours in Toledo, half a day of tenderness in the rain and the December sun that will help them to know themselves better.
Nightclub owner Madam (Hwang Jung-seun), known as "the President" in Busan's red light district, has made her money using any and all means, including prostitution and smuggling, in order to support her three daughters who live in Seoul. Her daughters, all of them college students, think that their mother runs a dressmaker's shop in Busan. Their success is Madam's only wish, but her eldest daughter Seong-hui disappoints her by insisting on marrying a truck driver and aspiring novelist (Kim Jin-kyu). Younger daughter Dong-hui (Kim Hye-jeong) dates a rich man's son (Lee Sang-sa) to Madam's delight, but the young man abandons Dong-hui without a second thought when he tires of her. In despair, Dong-hui comes to Busan in search of her mother, but Madam has already been taken into custody on smuggling charges. After she gets out of prison, Madam is shocked to learn that Dong-hui is working as a prostitute in a bar across from her nightclub, but she continues to hide her identity. Youngest daughter Yang-hui (Tae Hyun-sil), who is a violinist, visits Busan to give a performance before getting married and heading to Germany to study music. She discovers Madam's true profession and, enraged, repudiates her own mother. Dong-hui repents her behavior and comes looking for Madam with Seong-hui, but Madam has already committed suicide.

Don Giuliano Niccolini Borges, Roman prince and member of the Pontifical Noble Guard, is very much attracted to Jane, an English girl he has met that is accompanying him on a pleasure trip to Switzerland. He has some plans for hanky-panky on their various stops along the route, but Jane has other plans as she is only with him because his car has a special-identification license plate and can go through customs without inspection. The car clears customs as does the stolen million dollars she is smuggling. Sandro, her former boyfriend is following and plans to hi-jack the loot, leaving Jane empty handed.
John is a shipmaster on a very small transportation boat which regularly attends a very small harbour to buy food, actually from Anna's father. She is a waitress and has a young daughter. She tells John that her name is Anita. They have met many times, but their first personal meeting is when both are swimming in early morning. John is asked to have morning coffee with Anna's family. He invites her and her child to a trip to Zoo in Copenhagen. Both have genuine feelings for each other. There are lovely three-some scenes when John is proud of "being" a father, and beautiful love scenes. Christina Schollin's naked body is cute but never obtrusive. But at that time girls were depreciated if they "gave in" too soon. So these scenes repeatedly alternate with hot misunderstandings, well-known exactly when two people with genuine feelings fear misunderstandings and try to preclude them. In the last minutes of the movie, when each has left the "harbour village" on the next day, and John has learned the real name of "Anita" and calls her from the boat, both realise without saying anything about it, that this is the beginning of a long relationship based on mutual feelings.
