Tom (Lanning Beckman), an amoral grifter comes to Montreal during the summer of Expo. He picks up Vicky (Astri Torvik), a bored librarian and begins to teach her the ways to steal and swindle. Soon after the relationship between the two develops, Tom finds that his new student threatens his own dominence.

As he dates both women, he becomes dissatisfied with Geyong-hui because of her arrogance and more attracted by Mi-suk. In the end, he declares to marry Mi-suk.
