The vampires are Xavier Gains, sister Daniella Gains and wild card cousin, Barry Styles. The story revolves around these characters and the humans they are attracted to. As for Xavier, his love for a woman, Marisa Childs, led him to kidnap her from her husband, brainwash her and eventually initiate her into the fold. Yet through all this Marisa would not let him kill her husband, Douglas Childs as he is doing his best to bring his wife back. Not only is Douglas' wife trying to keep him alive, so is Daniella who is infatuated with Douglas. A homeless war-veteran with a chequered past must rely on a side of himself once thought buried when he and his companions are targeted by three vicious psychopaths wearing Santa suits on Christmas Day. Anna is stuck: she's approaching 30, living like a hermit in her mum's garden shed and wondering why the suffragettes ever bothered. She spends her days making videos using her thumbs as actors - thumbs that bicker about things like whether Yogi Bear is a moral or existential nihilist. But Anna doesn't show these videos to anyone and no one knows what they are for. A week before her birthday her Mum serves her an ultimatum - she needs to move out of the shed, get a haircut that doesn't put her gender in question and stop dressing like a homeless teenager. Naturally, Anna tells her Mum to "back the f-off". However, when her school friend comes to visit, Anna's self-imposed isolation becomes impossible to maintain.
