Description: Cannabis or 'French Intrigue' as it was called on the North American video release, is a low budget film that comes highly recommended, not least for the sight of Jane Birkin who looks absolutely gorgeous throughout the film, whether clothed or unclothed. The excellent cast also includes Serge Gainsbourg playing a chainsmoking unshaven hoodlum, Curd Jürgens and Paul Nicholas. Visually stunning, the cinematography and editing are outstanding, and the soundtrack, written by Serge Gainsbourg is fantastic. Most memorable scene, arguably, features Serge Gainsbourg in a huge Chicken coupe shooting it out with other baddies. he wife of a painter complains that her husband ignores her whenever he is working on a picture. One day her husband unexpectedly goes to Paris to study and when he returns he works all the more. He leaves Laxmi with her maternal grand-parent, Bhagwanti and her husband, but Laxmi is abused and she runs away to Bombay, where she is befriended and looked after by a blind beggar, Anwar. One day Laxmi and Anwar find that they have won a lottery worth 2.5 lakh rupees, are delighted, and look ...
