The film follows the story of three girls in contemporary Paris. One searches for her lost mother since she knows she's adopted. The other has come out of a coma and needs to have a love relationship aside from his mysterious father. The third one is a crook who redeems herself through love. Larsen, an aspiring poet in 20's Oslo, leaves his girlfriend to spend a year as a trapper in East Greenland. There he is teamed with a seemingly rough old sailor/trapper, Randbek, and a scientist, Holm. Trapped in a tiny hut together as the arctic winter sets in, a complex and intense love/hate relationship develops between Randbek and Larsen, who are more similar than either would like to admit. A powerful psychological and physical drama set against stunningly bleak arctic scenery.
The murder of a mundane country club manager has been staged to look like a sexually perverse accidental suicide, but the evidence soon points to murder. The local police blame a gang of youths; however, Jane believes it is club member. As she tries to carry out her investigation Jane finds herself up against a a community who refuse to help her discover the truth.
