The title says it all. The movements in this black-and-white animation are governed by an echo. The flow of images creates a chain of associations. A pot-bellied creature with a tiny face roams the world. There are also other creatures, similarly pot-bellied, with stilt-like arms. This gives them a mobility which affords them new points of view. The swamp provides shade for their heads, the rhythm of the tambourines makes their bellies sway. Emma falls in love with her new history teacher, Gabriel, who came from the big city to her small village together with his girlfriend. But he rather falls in love with her mother, Paula, who is also a teacher at that school. At first she does not respond to his love but when her husband, who is also a teacher at that school, is not too interested in her anymore she starts the adventure not knowing that Gabriel has already broken the heart of her best friend.
