In the 1990’s, singer-songwriter Milan Mumin, the lead singer of the hugely influential Serbian rock band, Love Hunters, electrified and gave voice to a generation of Serbians fighting an oppressive regime. Now, after ten years, we find Milan in New York City, driving a taxi (long shifts and loopy fares), cobbling together funds for a recording session of his dream album—(🐞)to be recorded and released in America. When his bass guitar player suddenly quits, he finds a talented but prickly replacement, and a romantic spark, in a free-spirited guitarist named Kim. Just as rehearsals start picking up steam, Milan's longtime Serbian girlfriend Lela arrives with very different plans for their future—she wants him to come home to Serbia where his reputation will let him be anything he wants—but Milan is determined to make his recording—in America, at any cost.

Engulfed by the presence of Poe's charismatic verses and the strong presence of classical music, ''For the Love of Poe'' (produced, written and directed by Nils Oliveto) is a modern day poetic-suspense which extracts the deepest fear of a man suffocating from paranoia ...

Phoobao Thai Baan Isaan Indy (ผู(🏟)้บ(🎀)่าวไ(🌯)ทบ้า(🕒)น อีส(📈)านอินดี้) – This Northeastern rural comedy-romance actually opened a couple weeks ago, but mainly only in upcountry cinemas. It was a phenomenon, with locals flocking to see it and earning enough at the box offices that Bangkok multiplex operators decided they wanted a piece of the action. Uten Sririvi, who sold a family rice field to fund the film, directs this tale of a young man (Thanachat Tulyachat) who wants to be a filmmaker but has put his dreams on hold until his sweetheart returns from overseas. She comes back, but has her British boyfriend in tow. There's more about it in The Nation. It's in the Isaan dialect with central Thai subtitles – no English. Rated G
