Olivia is thirty. She is a painter, preparing for an exhibition. Simon is the same age. He is a musician and is preparing to record. After havving left Olivia for almost a year, he has come back but they rarely see one another. Olivia mingles her sentimental doubts with her artistic conflicts. She confides in her friends Yvan and Judith and decides to leave for Majorca to work in her parents' house. On the ferry from Barcelona to Palma, she meets Alexander, whom she later sees again on the island. She falls in love with him but he only sees her as a passing affair. Back in Paris, she tells Simon that it is better they split up. She also sees Alexander again but he wants to limit their relationship to one of friendship.
