Two twentysomething best friends take a road trip from Sudbury to Toronto in this feature-length comedy-drama. Alex is heterosexual, introverted, and desperately single; Mark, rough hewn and charismatic, is in a committed gay relationship. Amidst traveling mishaps through Northern Ontario, adventures in the city with a pair of younger girls, and a journey into Alex's past, the friendship is ultimately put to the test by the boys' belated coming-of-age and their unspoken feelings towards each other.
A 25-30-year old Hacienda-owner (David Hemmings) is misbehaving on women due to his traumatic youth; his mother (Alida Valli) covers him for his sadistic actions; however, when he wants the daughter of the mansion supervisor to serve for him, things seem to get totally out of hand. He 'tames' her, but when 'tamed' and finally married, the young woman (Andrea Rau) soon becomes the dominating person in the family.
A young, impoverished German woman named Hanna (Maria von Tasnady) gives her infant up for adoption and emigrates to American to live with her husband. When her husband commits suicide, Hanna returns to Germany and works her way into becoming the live-in maid and nurse to her child being raised by an orchestra conductor and his wife.
