Joe, a programmer and obsessive self-quantifier, and Emily, a budding comedy performer, are happily married until they decide to use one another in their work.
Walking by with their three children, Batista and Maria look like their biggest problem is an autistc daughter. However, they have more complicated problems. Batista is an alcoholic fighting for rehabilitation. Maria is a devoted wife living a fiery affair with her daughter's boyfriend, Emília, that poses as a prude but seduces her own boss. Pedro, the oldest, is lost when beginning adulthood. Among the plot, tied by moments of tension and surprise, the family will break down little by little.

A small village is haunted by strange and awful murders. The scared villagers turn to two officials in search for help to solve the crimes. The investigations point to a very perfidious kind of murders: All victims were nibbled off shortly before or after their death. Could an animal be the cause of the strange bite tracks in face and arms of the dead bodies?
