Police detective Joe Warner investigates the shooting of womanizing composer Keith Vincent. Evidence points to suicide and that is the official verdict, but Joe doesn't buy it and obsessively keeps looking, tracking down one discarded love after another, despite being ordered off the case.
Inspired by the radio program of the same name, Night Editor features Charles D. Brown as the editor of the New York Star. In flashback, the editor tells the tale of police lieutenant William Gargan, who forsakes his happy home life for the love of no-good society dame Janis Carter. Both Gargan and Carter begin cheating on their respective spouses, and while on a romantic rendezvous the couple witnesses a murder. They can't report the crime without revealing their own infidelities, a dilemma which leads to blackmail, double-crossing and a second murder attempt. A twist ending caps this snappy little 65-minute morality play. Bang Han-whan (Nam Hong-il), who comes from a fishing village, goes to Seoul, Korea with great ambition to be successful. But he wastes his time and money on a geisha, San-hong (Han Eun-jin). One day he receives a telegram that his father is severely ill, goes back to his hometown, regrets what he has done in Seoul, and returns to the life as a sincere fisherman. One day San-hong visits him and he honestly tells her what he has on his mind. She listens to him wholeheartedly, goes back to Seoul and becomes a factory worker. When Hong-il's fishing farm faces financial difficulties, San-hong finds out about it, and sends him the money she had earned up until then. The door of happiness opens for them.
Molly, an actress desperate for work, decides to get it by "playing the part" of an experienced housekeeper. It turns out that the butler at her new household is doing the same thing. Their employer, Mr. Graham, is a retired politician who, divorced from his wife and estranged from his son, lives alone with a staff of servants. Graham's life needs shaking up and, with her enthusiasm and acting talent, Molly is just the one to help him do it when the opportunity arises.
