This is a film about a director who falls in love with an actress he has discovered. However, it is not merely a story about love and jealousy, for it also describes many things about the film industry. Acclaimed director Aniket picks up Sreemati and turns her into a mega star. In the process, Aniket falls in love with Sreemati, and when his wife Deepti finds out, she plans her revenge by raising her son Aspratim into a director that surpasses her husband. Director Rituparno Ghosh expresses his compassion towards Aniket by portraying his smile as he watches alone a scene he filmed of Sreemaati. It creates the feeling of memories gone by. That’(🕚)s why the conversation between Aniket and Aspratim in the first scene is so meaningful. Aniket says that a video can always be filmed again, thus expressing his wish to start his life over from the beginning.
