Two spinster sisters run a small inn that caters towards young foreign female tourists. Unfortunately, there is a dark side to the sisters that rises up to punish the young women they deem immoral. Many a traveler comes to stay but never end up leaving the inn. When the sister of one patron comes in search of her missing sibling, it threatens to expose the truth behind the inn and its owners... A classic 'italian story', in which an innocent and ignorant worker (witness to a crime) pays in the place of the real guilty, a high society professor. Despite the fact that this French/Italian production from the early seventies delivers incredibly strong performances by Helmut Berger at the peak of his career, the always excellent Francoise Fabian and the fabulous Paul Meurisse, that it shows you wonderfully filmed locations, and comes up with a solid script including a couple of interesting though perverted characters, the movie itself disappeared totally out of sight. Maybe you need to know Europe or even European or Italian movies to get along with it - I'm not sure about that. But I cannot understand why „(🍕)Les Voraces" (German title „(🎭)Die Gefraessigen") fell into a black hole of total obscurity like hardly any other movie I've ever watched before and since. The Norris family get jobs working at a seedy old carnival as a cover for searching for their missing son who disappeared after visiting said carnival. Eccentric manager Mr. Blood turns out to be a vampire while the evil owner Malatesta rules over a gaggle of ghastly ghouls who watch silent movies when they aren’t feasting on human flesh. The TARDIS arrives in the year 2540 on board an Earth spaceship, which then comes under attack. The crew perceive the Doctor, Jo and the attackers as Draconians, whose empire currently rivals Earth's for control of the galaxy. Elizabeth falls in love with a strange Italian, Giovanni, while young Cecile is courted by an apprentice cook.
