Acts of terrorism are happening in the USA, Japan, France and the Pacific Ocean. The man behind these events is Dr. Butler, who tries to rule the world with his powerful computers. To save mankind, Dr. Kim, Sheila and Keith, known as "Saviors of the Earth", are summoned. The last battle, the Deadly Game, will take place inside a computer.
In the city of Milan, a brutal gang of thieves rob a jewelry shop and just manage to escape capture by the police. During the robbery one of the gang members is severely wounded and needs medical attention immediately. The thieves discover a prominent surgeon (Anthony Steffen) lives nearby, so they bust their way into his house and force the doctor to aid the wounded gangster.

Sandor Korvin (Schell), the conductor of the Budapest Opera House tutors his wife Elena (Seymour in a duel role) as Marguerite in FAUST. When confronting Kraus, the critic (Stone), Korvin gets into a fight and a fire is started. Korvin kills the critic, only to have his face burned beyond recognition with acid that falls from a shelf above. He is saved from the infeno by a rat catcher, who takes him to a lair underneath the opera. Five years later, he becomes The Phantom of the Opera, a masked figure who causes havoc among the cast. Korvin spots Maria Gianelli (Seymour), a chorus girl who bears a remarkable resemblence to his dead wife. He tutors her by day, while Maria's love interest, however, is with Hartnell (York), who has taken over as director of FAUST. Richard Duke of Gloucester, youngest brother of King Edward IV, will stop at nothing to get the crown. He first convinces the ailing King that the Duke of Clarence, his elder brother, is a threat to the lives of Edward's two young sons. Edward has him imprisoned in the Tower of London; killers in Richard's pay then drown Clarence in a barrel of wine. When news of Clarence's death reaches the King, the subsequent grief and remorse bring about his death. Richard is made Lord Protector, with power to rule England while his nephew (now King Edward V) is still a minor. Before the young king's coronation he has his two nephews conveyed to the Tower, ostensibly for their safekeeping. Richard's accomplice, the Duke of Buckingham, then declares the two boys illegitimate and offers Richard the crown, which after a show of reticence he accepts. After Richard's coronation, he and Buckingham have a falling-out over whether or not to assassinate the two children.
