Brazilian town of Santa An-du-Agreshte welcomes his "prodigal daughter" Tieta, after a very long absence. When Tieta was 17, her father and older sister threw her out of the house "for bad behavior." And she returns home - very beautiful and, most importantly, fabulously rich. Her appearance causes a stir in the small town lost in time and space. After all, Tieta has more money than all of its residents, and she becomes the main benefactor of the town. But her older sister, burning with envy and dreaming to bring Titus "to light", suits against her a conspiracy ... It is the partly-improvised and partly-scripted story of two strangers who aren't looking for love but find it anyway. It is a twenty-four hour romance ride that truthfully captures that first feeling of falling for someone. Fishing boat captain Harry Morgan charters his boat. Due to strained finances, he is none too careful as to whom he does business with. Real trouble erupts when Harry hires out his boat to transport four men who turn out to be criminals on the lam from a racetrack heist. Kathy is married to Peter. Now she can't help but wonder how things could have been if she got together with her old boyfriend, Tom. Being married prevents from doing that so she asks her friend, Emily to go to him and see if she can sleep with him then tell Kathy how it was. When Emily tells Kathy that things were awesome, their friendship suffers, at the same so does Kathy's marriage. He convinces her to fake her suicide, so Billee and friends will forget her, and goes on a singing tour with her. Svengali uses his powers to make her sing wonderfully and Madame Svengali, as Trilby is now known, becomes a sensation throughout Europe. But Billee discovers the ruse and begins to follow the pair, upsetting Svengali enough to have him cancel performances too frequently, so they no longer can perform in Europe.
