It tells the story of Tommy (Robert Naylor), a ten-years-old-and-a-half boy. Because he is prone to have a violent behaviour, Tommy has always been handled by social services. However, Gilles (Claude Legault), his social educator, believes that Tommy's life can be put back on track.
Tom, a married man with kids, is struggling at work when a client tries to seduce him with promises of a 'more exciting life'. On his way home one night he gets attacked by a gang of hoodies and falls into a parallel world where he lives 5 other lives including a Rock-Star, a Homeless person and the 'hoody' that attacked him. These lives help him to re-evaluate his priorities and values but in order to get home he must face some of his deepest desires and fears. Will he make it home or is the grass greener on the other side?

"Notes From The New World" is a contemporary retelling of Dostoyevsky's novella which unfolds in Los Angeles of 2011 where dreams and harsh realities collide. Steven is torn between the loves of two women, each of them pretending to be somebody else. The danger only intensifies when Steven comes face to face with the Russian Mafia. Soon he will discover who he really is. On another level the story suggests an amazing reading of the state of the post modern/post communist world. Are we witnessing certain realization of Dostoyevsky's prophecies - especially as far as the Underground Man's dilemma regarding Love/Terrorism is concerned?..
