Three bank robbers on the run in their aging Citroen come across a remote beach house & find that as a perfect place to hide out. Trouble is, though, the house is occupied, by a few Catholic school girls and their teacher, who is also a nun. The sadistic bank robbers move right on in, kill the maid, and then proceed to have their way with a a couple of the girls and their teacher. One girl spurned one robber's advances with a deftly aimed comb handle to the groin area, and he's not doing too well, though. The girls, of course, and the nun, are not about to continue to be subjected to rape & torture, and eventually get the upper hand. This is no where near as nasty as "Last House On The Left", it's more a rather pale imitation. Man-bok even uses the money he got selling his neighbor's cattle for Yun-ho's tuition. Man-bok's second son Chang-ho goes to jail instead and Man-bok dies from guilt over Chang-ho. Afterwards, Yun-ho becomes a doctor. Pretending to be an orphan, Yun-ho becomes the son-in-law of a wealthy family and runs a hospital. Chang-ho goes to the Middle East in order to find a job. The selfish Yun-ho just supports his mother financially but won't let her come near her grandchildren. Yun-ho's mother leaves the home and wanders the streets. At this time, Chang-ho returns to Korea and finds his mother at the brink of death. He goes to his brother and lets go his rage. Afterwards, their mother is finally happy as she is surrounded by her family. All the lights are gone in New York during a citywide power failure.Four dangerous criminals escape from the prison bus and hide in a posh apartment building owned by wealthy Ray Milland.The convicts begin to terrorize the residents and it's up to Jim Mitchum to stop the orgy of violence and abuse...I haven't seen Eddy Matalon's tedious "Cathy's Curse" yet,but "Blackout" is a pretty tense exploitation thriller.The action is exciting and the cast is impressive.The few scenes of violence are quite hard-hitting.If you are into 70's gritty and washed out excursions into urban paranoia give "Blackout" a chance.This obscure flick deserves to be seen.8 blackouts of 10. Wol-ra decides that she wants to have a baby, but she does not necessarily want to get married. She sets out to find a man of intellect and talent so she can bear a child with these qualities.
