Two college students find evidence connecting a story they are investigating for film class to a series of deaths. Things begin to spiral out of control when an unknown force watching them becomes more violent and bloodthirsty. A typically quiet suburban community descends into chaos and paranoia after the delivery of mysterious red letters containing deadly instructions. After a man's wife is mysteriously murdered, he begins his own investigation while cops try to pin down the killer. As suspicions mount about the true killer, the husband begins to have disturbing visions of what happened one tragic night.
