It deals with the psychological ravishing of a sensitive and literate young man during the first year in his service in the Italian army. He is abused and shoved about by officers and non-commissioned personnel, and when he has the audacity to become a good soldier, he is shunned by the other trainees. The soldier, Passeri, is played by the talented Michele Placido, who was the youngest brother in THREE BROTHERS and the teacher in FOREVER MARY, both made after this film. Much of the movie treats Passeri's relationship with a strict and possibly psychotic young officer (Franco Nero) and his sluttish young wife, played by French actress Miou-Miou. The movie delves into the relationship between power and sexuality, has some scenes that are rather graphic. But it is another example of Bellocchio's exhilarating talent which can be both savage and humane, satiric and dramatic, and most certainly always fascinating. Mr Hoffman sells books and provides his female customers with nice moments in a room at the back of the shop. The number of female customers grows very rapidly and when Mr Hoffman isn’t up th the demand, he calls in his two oldest sons who keep the shop going. Unfortunately his youngest son is only interested in reading. One day, as he delivers books to one of the customers, the lady teaches him about the pleasures of sex. In order to celebrate this, the father organises a party and all is well that ends well The film tells a story of a young chambermaid from Venice who is a fan of Italian "Telefoni bianchi" cinema of the fascist era. She decides to follow her dream and goes to Rome, hoping to become an actress. An Italian revenge- themed crime film. A young man tries to rob a jewellery store but gets caught and sent to prison. Inside he befriends a crime boss and they break out together. After this comes the first plot twist which I'm not going to reveal...All in all an entertaining crime flick for fans of European hardboiled cinema of the seventies. Includes a truly remarkable motorcycle chasing a lorry- scene which includes either real crash footage or the most convincing effects I've ever seen. Pure geek Jon Pigeon works in a unusual sex analysis institute in which people run about the corridors nude, naughty aerobics are motivated and where no guy is safe from a crotch catching old tea lady. In order to entice office secretary Cheryl, Pigeon discovers a device aka Agnes which produces a 'sonic aphrodisiac' that can change any man or woman into an over-lustful love-making madman. While his efforts to zap Cheryl end in tragedy, Pigeon has some fun switching the 'sexy ray' on his intimidation boss Nutbrown and wash up campaigner Mary Watchtower.
