After her brother was killed by a notorious all-female pirate gang, Morag dedicates her life to bringing the murderers to justice. Soon, she has become an important member of the pirate gang and has begun acquiring the loyalty of key members. Eventually, she makes her move and challenges the leader, a demi-god (literally), known as "The Daughter of the Sun." The story of Noroit is based on an early 17th-century tragedy by Cyril Tourneur, and, though it is only the third one filmed, the movie is the concluding episode in a four-part series by director Jacques Rivette.
Director Mario Caiano is not one of the better known Italian directors; but he's certainly one of the most underrated and has proved himself more than capable of delivering the goods on a number of occasions with films such as Calling All Police Cars, Night of the Doomed, and this film. The Polizi genre is best known for it's fun action flicks with a focus on car chases and shootouts; but with this film, the director has taken the theme and added an extremely grim atmosphere to it, and this bodes well with the plot line which takes in a robbery gone wrong, a resulting war between the criminals and a police investigation. The film opens with a bank robbery in which the crooks make off with a load of money which was intended for some workers' pay packets. This interests Police Commissioner Foschi as the wages are normally paid in cheque. Things haven't gone well for the criminals either, as two of them have decided to rip the other one off, leading him to track down his former partners with the cops on all of their tails.

Pure geek Jon Pigeon works in a unusual sex analysis institute in which people run about the corridors nude, naughty aerobics are motivated and where no guy is safe from a crotch catching old tea lady. Variation, based on the book by Hiroyuki Itsuki, a novelist especially popular with women, was the final work of the late Nakahira. His previous themes of first love, disppointment, anguish and tenderness are projected as the undercurrent to this story of the renewed love of two former university students. They meet dramatically who Morii, a political radical on the run from the police, is concealed by Kyoko while performing a puppet show at the university. Their affair is cut short when Morii is forced to go into hiding. When they renew their affair ten years later after an accident meeting in Paris, the same desperation inherent in their young love again clouds their relationship: Morii's fugitive years have subjected him to a stress which has made him impotent, and once again Kyoko is plagued by Morii's inability to love her totally. Only escape seems to hold hope for reconciling their situation, and the two plan to steal away to the south of France but it seems that the couple are doomed to play only a variation on the same tragic theme of their love.
