Fabulous High is a new, independently produced, LGBT series that focuses on the lives of several high school characters, facing the realities of teenagers today. Fabulous High incorporates LGBT themes, stories, and characters; however, the series also focuses on hot societal issues and topics. The fast paced and quick witted series, follows the characters' personal struggles with identity, acceptance, relationships, and well… high school. After a prologue explains that the atom bomb is about to drop, we’re shown a family of three (mother, father and adult daughter) sitting around a kitchen table, deciding that they will stay and “die with dignity.” The mother and daughter give birth to various food items and the father tires to climb back into the womb, and then daughter relates a dream. We see a mushroom cloud, then another trio of actors in a different apartment who believe they are in the afterlife: they recite more humorous nonsense about God, death and the apocalypse and enact more bizarre skits before the action shifts to another trio in a different room, then another… A man chases a woman. She runs by and then meets another man. The film shows desolate sights. The director’s intention to show indescribable emotions comes up in the frames. Anno 2020. Of their three sons, one committed suicide, one immigrated, and one ran away from home. The husband was once a two-star general with a promising future, but his decision not to join a coup d' tat would eventually lead to his dishonorable discharge and the loss of his pension. As the two grow older, they find an increasing sense of warmth and security in each other's presence. When one of their sons goes bankrupt, however, their house which they mortgaged to support him is take by the bank. With no social safety net to catch them, the two are forced to separate: the husband goes to a men's senior home while the wife ends up in a woman's home on the other side of the city. This painful separation forces the couple to find new means of communication, whether through letters or meeting in public parks. As month pass, the approaching winter promises harsh times ahead.
