London, 1962. Two strangers strike up a conversation on a park bench about life, love, sex and the hostile world they find themselves in as gay men. The topics might be commonplace, but the language isn't, because the two men are speaking in Polari - a mostly extinct form of gay slang used in Britain in the first half of the 20th century. Shedding light on a little-known and fascinating slice of gay history, this film is a moving and darkly comic exploration of oppression, resilience and gay subculture in 1960s England.

VESSELS follows Diamond, a young Latina transgender woman living in Los Angeles. Diamond works at a garment factory for meager pay and is unable to afford healthcare let alone the breast implants she desperately desires. When her friend Hope shows off her new breasts she obtained through illegal black market silicone injections, Diamond is presented with an opportunity to gain the more feminine physique she has wanted her entire life. The girls go visit the “pumper,” Prayleen, who helps Diamond sculpt the body of her dreams.

In a country where men seem more interested in their electronic gadgets than their peers, a group of lonely and disillusioned women take the Limbo Limbo bus. Off to a far exotic country, they hope to find the so expected happiness. They land on an island populated by a tribe of mustache-men. This meeting triggers the primitive instincts of these women who, without caring about the civilized behavior rules, start chasing them and pushed by the competitive spirit, are ready to fight the forces of nature in order to capture their prey : the male.
