Archana, an educated daughter of retired principal loves Professor Sukhesh. This love born out of intellectual impact is supported by the fond hopes of her father that leads to matrimonial alliance. Archana's mother is of a different class with materialistic notions of life and she too unwillingly gives her consent to the marriage. Seeds of marital love have not yet flowered into sweet joys of wedlock when whims and ego's of Archana and Sukhesh start clashing. Though a dutiful loving wife of a sweet husband, Archana is very much the daughter of her mother, who with all good intentions intervenes in the day to day life of the couple. Understanding leads to misunderstandings and the lovers start misinterpreting each other's sentiments. This ultimately leads to break in marriage - hence the ultimate- eventual separation. Kora Kagaz answers the struggle of intellectual lovers who find it difficult to enjoy marital bliss. The film is a lesson in both love and marriage.

Nicholas Ray ended his Hollywood career with his most expensive production, 55 Days in Peking (1963), and followed it ten years later with his least expensive, an experimental and politically radical independent feature made with his film students. Each movie is a shambles, though if I had to choose between them I'd probably opt for this one, which is certainly the more original. Ray and his students play themselves in docudrama situations that culminate in Ray's (fictional) suicide, and often he combines several images into crowded frescoes. The film reeks of countercultural alienation and anguish, and when it premiered at Cannes in 1973, Ray spoke of trying to make "what in our minds is a Guernica" out of such materials as "a broken-down Bolex" and "a Mitchell that costs $25 out of navy surplus." He tinkered with the film for years, and the 1976 date commonly assigned to it refers to a second unfinished version, which, lamentably, is unavailable. It's upsetting in many ways, but as a document of its time there's nothing remotely like it.
A down on his luck gambler (George Seagal) links up with free spirit Elliot Gould at first to have some fun on, but then gets into debt when Gould takes an unscheduled trip to Tijuana. As a final act of desperation, he pawns most of his possessions and goes to Reno for the poker game of a lifetime. A film set mainly in casinos and races, as the two win and lose (but mainly win), get robbed, and get blind drunk.
This film is currently available via the good folks at Something Weird Video. It is without a doubt the worst porn film ever made. Somewhere John waters is green with envy that these would-be stars slipped through his fingers. In fact, if ever radical Christian conservatives want to truly turn teenagers off to sex, this is the film they should show them. At first, you'll be horrified to be witnessing this naked hillbilly, trash, couple pawing each other drunkenly. The overweight, beehive-wearing, leading lady twangs and drawls her way through a tirade of improvised insults and personal attacks with her drunken male costar until you almost forget entirely that this couple are attempting to make a sex flick. This film is so bad it is awesome. Sure to be like nothing you've ever seen before.
