The duel is on and Robert is very quickly on the losing end when Ham, knowing that Spadissimo has a mother complex, poses as Robert's mother and Spadissimo breaks down in tears, while Robert, Marietta and Ham make a quick exit stage left. Marcia, having learned that Robert is not broke enters ready to renew the romance, but takes her romance notion in another direction when the sees the size of the castle of the recently-jilted Spadissimo.
