Raoul Wallenberg is the son of a well-to-do family of Swedish bankers. Although he is a Christian "Aryan", Wallenberg despises the anti-semitism of the Hitler regime. Not content with merely sitting back and viewing with alarm, Wallenberg vows to help as many Jewish victims of the Nazis as possible. An unlucky woman’s mother is murdered by a scarf-wielding killer named Silk, leaving the woman injured, traumatised and suffering from amnesia. She’s committed to a mental institution, where Silk follows her, looking for the papers he was trying to get from her mother. And Silk’(😹)s only the beginning of her problems, since the asylum is run by a mad doctor, performing experiments in chemical lobotomies! Hong Kong Butcher tells the story of a looney, sexually inadequate cab driver who takes out his frustrations on hapless women by cutting them up and preserving their genitals a la Ed Gein. Director Jeffrey Lau, credited here as China Chung, begins the film with a 'documentary' segment focusing on the insane folks who inhabit the streets of Hong Kong. Our antagonist fits nicely among them, because he is shamelessly crazy. Any chance he may have at a semi-normal relationship with one girl he meets is dashed when he takes her on a metal-crunching daredevil car ride after first meeting her, then goofily harasses her at her apartment door the following day when she refuses to let him in. At night the guy cruises the streets of Hong Kong in his cab, grabbing a woman now and again to knock unconcious and carry to his apartment where he hacks them up, then has sex with them. He displays his victim's parts in plastic cases, and prances around his apartment in ecstasy looking at them. As in the Cocteau film, Demy relates the Orpheus and Euridyce legend in a contemporary setting. Now a rock 'n' roll sensation (instead of the poet of the Cocteau film) Orpheus falls in love with Eurydice, who in this version is a sculptress rather than a princess. The rest of the film adheres to the familiar story. Euridyce, who is death personified, beckons Orpheus into Hell, ostensibly to revive his dead lover. A shade brighter and more buoyant than its source material, Parking is the usual Jacques Demy brew of beautiful imagery and hokey dialogue.~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide Model Hyunju, who has been selected by Kang Kang of CF company and has been successful, avoids physical relationships for true love with his lover. However, during the outdoor shooting, when the lieutenant Kang lost her innocence and confessed the fact to her lover, the disappointed lover goes abroad and marries another woman. In the midst of frustration and confusion, Hyun-ju decided to take revenge on Kang, and went to rival company of Kang. A spoilt rich woman goes to prison and obviously wants to get out. In the sorrow of exile, a group of Argentinians in Paris seek solace and connection to their culture by staging a set of tangos. The film alternates between their vibrant rehearsals and their circumscribed lives in low-rent apartments, underemployed, fitfully communicating with families back home, trying to make do with what they hope are only temporary arrangements in a foreign land.
