The mystery leads Holmes and doctor Watson into an intricate plot regarding a lost treasure belonging to four convicts on the Andaman Islands The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief's daughter. The sage man refuses, and the Southerners massacre the tribe and abduct the young squaw anyway. The noble squaw manages to escape, and hides out with a rough rancher, who dislikes Indians, but hates the Southerners more. The odd couple join forces and combine tactics to exert ultimate vengeance on the men at the fort. In the Australian outback, a park ranger and two local guides set out to track down a giant crocodile that has been killing and eating the local populace. During the hunt, one of the guides discovers that he has an ESP connection to the giant creature. The story surrounds the lives of Dr. Rehman (Shashi Kapoor) who believes in saving the lives of the poor, instead of opening up a clinic in a big city and making money; Soni (Rekha), an innocent village girl, who was abducted by dacoits during her marriage with Dharma (Puneet Issar), and when the police rescue her and bring her back to her groom, he and his family reject her, making her seem like a fallen woman; Dr. Kumar (Ashok Kumar) who is the very opposite of Dr. Rehman; and Dr. Anand (Vinod Mehra), the son of Dr. Kumar. Dr. Anand practices under Dr. Rehman, who testified for him during a criminal trial for malpractice which resulted in the death of the husband of Rani Sahiba (Moon Moon Sen). Soni has fallen in love with Dr. Anand, but Dr. Anand has strong reservations against her, due to her background. After the end of the Second World War, in a boat going from France to South America, Laura meets Jaime. When they arrive, Laura looks for her lover Ricardo while Jaime prepares to marry his girlfriend Sofia. On a stormy night, a political coup occurs and destiny reunites Laura and Jaime. This low-budget but slickly produced Canadian horror project is an engrossing, heady blend of steamy romance and jugular-gushing vampire mayhem. Silvio Oliviero stars in the quirky role of nocturnal New York cabbie Stephen -- who just happens to be a 350-year-old vampire. Into his clutches falls lovely music-video director Michelle (Helen Papas), a terminally ill woman seeking a passionate one-night stand. Her condition undergoes a remarkable change after Stephen puts the bite on her, claiming her as his undead bride -- much to the chagrin of her jealous husband, who sets out to destroy her immortal lover. Director Gerard Ciccoritti employs modern-day vampire conventions (particularly some startling gore effects) with pleasing results, but it's the film's well-rounded characters who set it apart from the standard direct-to-video exploitation fare. Unfortunately, too heavy a reliance on trite MTV-style window dressing prevents this from achieving true cult-classic status. A star studded biography of Brazilian legend Leila Diniz, born in 1945 to a communist couple (Tony Ramos and Marieta Severo). She grows up to be an extraordinary woman in her own, undefinable, and unique style, unheard of in Brazilian society. She causes the greatest scandals of her times and breaks social taboos through her association with her best friend (Diogo Vilela), and enters show business, working with several lovers (Paulo Cesar Grande, Carlos Alberto Riccelli, Jose Wilker) becoming Brazil's greatest star. She achieves this in spite of arrests, prison sentences and other threats from the military government who regarded her as subversive.
