Her daughters, all of them college students, think that their mother runs a dressmaker's shop in Busan. Their success is Madam's only wish, but her eldest daughter Seong-hui disappoints her by insisting on marrying a truck driver and aspiring novelist (Kim Jin-kyu). Younger daughter Dong-hui (Kim Hye-jeong) dates a rich man's son (Lee Sang-sa) to Madam's delight, but the young man abandons Dong-hui without a second thought when he tires of her. In despair, Dong-hui comes to Busan in search of her mother, but Madam has already been taken into custody on smuggling charges. After she gets out of prison, Madam is shocked to learn that Dong-hui is working as a prostitute in a bar across from her nightclub, but she continues to hide her identity. Youngest daughter Yang-hui (Tae Hyun-sil), who is a violinist, visits Busan to give a performance before getting married and heading to Germany to study music. She discovers Madam's true profession and, enraged, repudiates her own mother. Dong-hui repents her behavior and comes looking for Madam with Seong-hui, but Madam has already committed suicide. Lilith is a about a mysterious young woman in an elite sanitarium in New England, who seems to weave a magical spell all around her. A restless, but sincere young man with an equally obscure past is seemingly drawn into her web. As time passes, their relationship deepens and intensifies, and the differences between them begin to blur, leading to a shocking, but oddly logical conclusion. In prohibition-era Chicago, the corrupt sheriff and Guy Gisborne, a south-side racketeer, knock off the boss Big Jim. Everyone falls in line behind Guy except Robbo, who controls the north side. Although he's outgunned, Robbo wants to keep his own territory. A pool-playing dude from Indiana and the director of a boys' orphanage join forces with Robbo; and, when he gives some money to the orphanage, he becomes the toast of the town as a hood like Robin Hood. Meanwhile, Guy schemes to get rid of Robbo, and Big Jim's heretofore unknown daughter Marian appears and goes from man to man trying to find an ally in her quest to run the whole show.
