Sherlock Holmes in investigates the strange case of Jabez Wilson. The man was recently offered employment by an organization known as the Red Headed League. For the grand sum of 4 pounds per week, he was to sit in an office and copy out entries fro an encyclopedia, starting with the letter A. He had responded to an advertisement and while there were many applicants, he has no idea why he was selected as the League's beneficiary. When after several weeks his employment is suddenly terminated, Mr. Wilson doesn't know what think. McFarlane had never met the man who claimed to have known his parents long ago and having no issue of his own, wanted to leave everything to him. McFarlane drew up the papers and called at Oldacre's home that evening to have everything signed but sometime in the night the man was killed and the body burned beyond all recognition. Seok is the manager of a five-member girl singer group named Thriller. He watches out for the group as they play gigs in bar after bar. Seok is the son of a retired policeman and he can't stand to see injustice. However, as all five members of the band have strong personalities and different goals, it is hard for them to come together. One of the members tries to earn money but gets violated instead. She attempts to kill herself. Seok searches out the men who do this kind of thing and break up their gang. Also, Seok gets caught in an espionage conspiracy and the group is at the point of breaking up. Working frantically, Seok overcomes the crisis and holds the band together.
Rick is a 17-year-old golden boy whose father wants him to became a doctor like himself. Lonnie is a problematic 16-year-old girl, who has just come out from a sanatorium after an attempted suicide. The families of both teens are very close friends. Right away, Lonnie and Rick fall strongly in love for each other. Meanwhile Rick becomes aware that his father betrays his mother, so he begins to show his uneasiness at home and do odd things. Thinking Lonnie's the reason of his son's behaviour, Rick's father forbids him to see her anymore. After an unsuccessful getaway the two adolescents realize their love is impossible, therefore they decide to commit suicide. From then onwards both o their families are destroyed, and their friendship as well. It'll be hard to reconstruct the family and retrieve the friendship.
