The history of the film is based on the renewal of an old friendship happening in unforeseen and strange circumstances. Seyed (Behrooz Vousoughi) is a drug addict working small jobs in a theatre to pay for his heavy addiction. One day he is visited by an old friend, Ghodrat (Faramarz Gharibian), for whom he was a role model and protector when they were teenagers. Ghodrat has just been shot by the police when an armed robbery went wrong and is now looking for a safe place to lay low for a while. Hence, he comes to stay with the only person that he could trust, Seyed. However, what he sees is miles away from the Seyed that he knew and had in mind. Although they are both happy to find each other after so many years, Ghodrat is completely shocked to see Seyed, once the ruler of the high school yards and neighbourhoods, to have become a complete and utterly useless heavy drug user living in a lowly state of physical and social being. The end of 1940s is in extreme chaos of ideology. Park Nam-Pyo, a leader of the communist party in South Korea, is assassinated during his address in a lecture meeting. Inspector Park arrests Jung-Kwon as the criminal. Kwon is released thanks to the plot of the party's underground organization but is executed by the party. After that Hong Jeong-Kyu, a convert from communism, is assassinated again and Hwang Cheon-Il, the assassin, is caught. When the case gets into the climax, the communist party under pressure assassinate chief officer Kim. Inspector Park, who is second to none to follow Kim, makes a sudden attack the hideout of the party and clears them out with his strong combative spirit. TV special, hosted by Jack Lemmon, which ran 90 minutes long and aired on February 24, 1973. In a Wizard of Oz-like spoof, Jack is knocked out by a broom in black and white and when he wakes up he finds himself in 'Arlenland' and with everything in color. He then begins a journey to find Harold Arlen and along the way he meets Diahann Carroll, Johnny Mathis, Dinah Shore, Cass Elliot, and Doc Severinsen who each perform various Harold Arlen songs.
