Two escaped convicts arrive in the town of Happy, Texas, where they are mistaken for a gay couple who is to host the town's Little Miss Fresh Squeezed beauty pageant. Enjoying the celebrity and using their skill as con-men, the two adopt their persona to take on the task. Of course, as the two are heterosexual, their interest in the involved ladies intensifies. Ally Walker is a banker, who is distrustful of men and has given up on love. Illeana Douglas plays the dowdy, badly dressed teacher. An unseen man recalls four days of his youth when he came of age. He is Simon, in mid teens, in awe of his father who's planned a robbery with the down-and-out Fury. Dad double-crosses Fury, using Simon in a switch of the bag of cash. Unknown to Simon, however, a bank guard later shoots dad dead and wounds Fury. Simon leaves Ontario, as planned, heading for a remote Qué(🤙)bec town. When Fury discovers the money gone, he follow Simon with the aid of Simon's neighbor, Feather, who's been dad's lover. En route to Quebec, Simon is picked up by Chrystal, a wild woman who's just left her husband. They all meet beside a lake for a final sorting out of money and relationships. Sitcom set in a pretty village, but with very different inhabitants - including: a retired professional, his refined wife, a wealthy but tasteless couple, 'alternative lifestyle' followers, a lawyer, and a drunkard farmer. Lots of ridiculous situations, mix-ups, and double-entendres.
