Don Giuliano Niccolini Borges, Roman prince and member of the Pontifical Noble Guard, is very much attracted to Jane, an English girl he has met that is accompanying him on a pleasure trip to Switzerland. He has some plans for hanky-panky on their various stops along the route, but Jane has other plans as she is only with him because his car has a special-identification license plate and can go through customs without inspection. The car clears customs as does the stolen million dollars she is smuggling. Sandro, her former boyfriend is following and plans to hi-jack the loot, leaving Jane empty handed.
This is a wonderful film! Shot on location in Singapore, it is the story of a Malaysian rebel, Sandokan, who, with his group of fanatic renegades, tries to thwart an evil British general from forcing the good king Hassim to resign in favor of the Imperial crown. I enjoyed this film quite a bit. The cinematography is lush, and the sets lavish. In one of my favorite scenes, a gang of rebels is attacked by bloodthirsty natives! Another scene finds a captive about to be fed to a hungry alligator. If you enjoy high-end historical adventure romances, this should whet your palate.
When Miss Marple and Mr. Stringer are soliciting for their charity that benefits paroled convicts, they call on the home of wealthy Mr. Enderby. They are shocked to witness his heart failure culminating in his fall down the stairs to his death. Miss Marple suspects that someone "frightened him to death" intentionally by a cat, but she cannot interest Inspector Craddock in her theory. She correctly surmises that one of Enderby's four heirs is guilty of his murder, and her theory is confirmed when two of them end up murdered.
