Peter Tchaikovsky created some of the most romantic and beloved music ever. Surely he must have a man sensitivities for above human passions and pitfalls. Not so, says Ken Russell (Women in Love, Crimes of Passion), director of the lavish Tchaikovsky bio-pic The Music Lovers. Declaring that he was “fed up with the reverential treatment of musical heroes,” Russell sold his film to backers by describing it as a “love story between a homosexual and a nymphomaniac.”
Dong-cheol, a nightclub opwner, is threatened by a gangster who lusts after his wife. Dong-cheol accidently kills one of the gangster's henchmen in a fight and is sent to prison. This leaves his family vulnerable to the gangster's threats.
Min-su and In-suk's seemingly happy home is shattered when Min-su's aldultery comes to light. Yeong-hie, Min-su's jealous mistress, arranges for In-suk to be kidnapped and informs Min-su that he must marry her or his wife will suffer the consequences

Reza Motori, who has feigned madness, escapes from an asylum and robs a factory, with the aid of a friend. Afterwards, a young writer, who looks exactly like Reza, visits the asylum in order to write about inmates. There he is mistaken for Reza and detained. Meanwhile, Reza assumes the identity of the writer. Reza falls in love with the writer's fiancée and decides to give up the money he has stolen from the factory, but his friends prevent him from doing so. Ultimately, Reza is killed when he collides with a truck on his way to meet his beloved. Received the best actor and best music prizes at the Third Iranian National Film Festival "Sepas" in 1971.
