Raj (Naseeruddin Shah) is a slum dweller, who one day comes to know that he has inherited the business and property from his grand-father worth 3.3 billion Indian rupees. Stunned and delighted at the same time, he gleefully arrives at his former grand-father's estate to claim his inheritance, only to be told that there is a clause attached: which is that he must spend 300 Million rupees in 30 days or else risk losing his inheritance altogether. In 1987, American director Cornfield travels to Germany for shooting a documentary film. Surprisingly he has neither a concept nor a script about the production. Soon it becomes clear that he wants to film his own life story. In Second World War, Cornfield, a Hungarian Jew, was an inmate of a concentration camp. There he had to perform in an anti-Semitic Nazi film. Another trauma is also affecting his life.
Raja Bhaiya and Charan come to the big city to make a living, but cannot find jobs. While eating some food, they are taunted and physically assaulted by Kallu Dada, a physical altercation ensues, Raja wins and becomes the local uncrowned underworld don, and both make a living collecting Hafta (weekly bribes) from shopkeepers and local businesses. Due to her influence, he gives up his bad habits and decides to go straight.
