A small group of artists travels the Brazilian backlands presenting a show. Upon arriving in a small village, they find an abandoned city with houses, a church, and a fountain spouting clean water, like a miracle of a biblical desert. Tired of and battered by their life as wanderers, the artists decide to settle in the village and start a new community, assigning themselves different roles from those they have played throughout their lives. Neither of the groups cross and enter the other's perimeter. Honeycrisp tells the story of Hannah and Greta Lawton - two estranged sisters with a turbulent past who meet up to clean out their suddenly deceased parents cabin and repair - or end - their relationship. Megan Quinn, an aspiring architect, finds herself faced with multiple tasks. She gets sent to her hometown to try to convince Mrs. Frances Figgins, her childhood mentor, to sell her family's home so that Megan's company can develop her hometown lake into a commercialized entertainment center. Megan also starts and helping out at her family café after her father breaks his leg, all while also dealing with the return of her childhood sweetheart, Joe, who broke her heart. Eddie Flanagan is a San Francisco cop, jaded and cynical. In twenty years on the job, he has seen just about everything - everything that is until a beautiful young lawyer is brutally murdered in one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods.
