The stuffy manager of lovely opera singer Vicki Cassel and her uncle, a classical conductor, is determined to close down the noisy nightclub that's next door to the Cassels' home. The club's owners--Steve, a handsome ladies man, Jeff, his clownish sidekick--hatch a plan to keep the club open. Steve arranges to meet--and woo--Vicki and then invite her and her uncle to the club. When Vicki's snobbish aunt and the manager discover that Vicki now favors popular music to the classics, they arrange to get the club closed. But that doesn't keep Steve and Jeff down. Instead they decide to put on a Broadway show if they can get a backer. They find their "angel" in Vicki's uncle who agrees to finance the show only if Vicki is the leading lady. The detective must solve the crime before it is too late. To do so, he gathers all the suspects at a radio studio and reenacts the crime. The killer is revealed. Bang Han-whan (Nam Hong-il), who comes from a fishing village, goes to Seoul, Korea with great ambition to be successful. But he wastes his time and money on a geisha, San-hong (Han Eun-jin). One day he receives a telegram that his father is severely ill, goes back to his hometown, regrets what he has done in Seoul, and returns to the life as a sincere fisherman. One day San-hong visits him and he honestly tells her what he has on his mind. She listens to him wholeheartedly, goes back to Seoul and becomes a factory worker. When Hong-il's fishing farm faces financial difficulties, San-hong finds out about it, and sends him the money she had earned up until then. Then Regan, who sticks around to romance Colby's secretary Noel, begins to suspect he's been used. The Black Widow is a low-budget, surprisingly entertaining adventure, science-fiction serial produced by Republic Pictures. Steve Colt (Bruce Edwards) and Joyce Winters (Virginia Lindley) battle to save the world from the evil powers of Sombra (Carol Forman), a wicked woman who intends to rule using her psychic powers. This 13-episode series was directed by Fred C. Brannon and Spencer Gordon Bennett. These episodes, released on video, were produced and shown weekly in movie theatres prior to the main features. While not of the same quality as Flash Gordon, The Black Widow is entertaining and amusing and worth viewing for lovers of the genre. A homeless New Yorker moves into a mansion and along the way he gathers friends to live in the house with him. Before he knows it, he is living with the actual home owners An ex-cop who is now a private detective is hired by a woman to be the go-between in retrieving an important envelope from her partner. The detective has the partner come to his apartment to give him the envelope, but someone sneaks into his apartment and strangles her while the detective is in another room. Fearful that the police will suspect him of the murder, he brings the woman's body back to her own apartment, but the police find out and suspect him of the murder anyway. He must find out who is framing him for the murder and why, before the police catch him.
