A group of professional gay pageant contestants who never actually win anything (referred to sarcastically as "thank you girls," in reference to the obligatory script a pageant host would throw to losing candidates as they flock out of stage), travel by jeepney, rickety from the years of use but beautified by its passengers' sheer creativity, from a losing stint in Davao City to Cagayan de Oro City, where they would try their luck in another pageant.
2 friends have an escort agency in London which is somewhat failing, until a 3rd partner becomes involved. She sees that the ladies engaged by the company have all been there for years, and sets about to find some fresh new faces, and lift the business up, and the best time to do it is when the soldiers are on leave. Watch this if you don't mind people breaking out into song at any given moment, and definitely keep your eyes peeled out for the 3 leads doing an hilarious Marx Brothers impersonation - their Harpo almost out-harps the original!

The titular mystery submarine figures into the film's climax, which takes place just off the coast of Mexico.
