She ran away to be with her boyfriend, only to discover that he was only after her money and was really fooling around with someone else. Along the way, the train derails and Madhu's friend is killed. Before dying, she makes Madhu promise to "take her place" at her in-laws. Thus Madhu becomes a new person. But, her old ex-boyfriend knows and she is actually connected to the people of Naini Tal in more ways than she knows... he wife of a painter complains that her husband ignores her whenever he is working on a picture. One day her husband unexpectedly goes to Paris to study and when he returns he works all the more. His wife sleeps with another man out of frustration and anger, but when she sees that her husband's painting is of her as a model of purity, she decides that she cannot go on. A successful auto executive Vinther(Roy Dotrice) becomes entwined with a young nubile girl, Susanne played by Judy Geeson, following an avoidable car accident, that results in the death of a man. The girl mentally blackmails our executive through manipulation leading to an affair that threatens Vinther’s career and marriage.
