Ok, folks, this is my last Ishii upload. Totsugeki! Hakata gurentai is his first feature and last 8mm film. Haven't watched it yet myself, but from the looks of it, this is very much reminescent of eighties and nineties v-cinema, sort of like early Miike (only made in 1978). There is considerably more dialogue than in his earlier films, but it doesn't seem too complicated plotwise.

During the rule of the Taliban in Afghanistan about 3 million Afghans, who were mostly illegal immigrants, entered Iran; causing numerous problems for the Iranian society to accept them. This film is the story of a 17 year old rural girl by the name of Mahi, who comes from a war-stricken family in the southern Iran. Mahi falls in love with an Afghan student named Hairan, who has come to their village to work. But Mahi's family being strictly against her marriage to an Afghan, forces Mahi to choose one between her family and an Afghan lad.

Tragedy of Korean War was unfolded through a boy's testimony. Although the boy saw and felt many things, he can not say anything. Dol-Yi, a 10-year-old-boy, was beloved as a mascot by soldiers when he lived near front. There was North Korean Army over the hill, it had nothing to do with him. But tragedy of the war came to Dol-Yi. What did he think about through the suffer from war and tragedy of the partition of the country?
