The Pickering Commission concluded that a lone gunman killed US President Kegan in 1960, in Philadelphia. 19 years later a dying man confesses to be the real shooter hired to kill him. Kegan's brother and filthy rich father investigate. Just for the record, the Italian title of this film is "The Seventh Woman". Three bank robbers on the run in their aging Citroen come across a remote beach house & find that as a perfect place to hide out. Trouble is, though, the house is occupied, by a few Catholic school girls and their teacher, who is also a nun. The sadistic bank robbers move right on in, kill the maid, and then proceed to have their way with a a couple of the girls and their teacher. One girl spurned one robber's advances with a deftly aimed comb handle to the groin area, and he's not doing too well, though. The girls, of course, and the nun, are not about to continue to be subjected to rape & torture, and eventually get the upper hand. This is no where near as nasty as "Last House On The Left", it's more a rather pale imitation. Still though, it's a decent enough exploitation film, if you like that sort of thing, but there's nothing to elevate it above that particular distinction. 6 out of 10. First, a father of four is killed by his second son who is then given the death penalty. The eldest son is killed in a battle against Japanese soldiers. The third son becomes a policeman, but is killed by communist sympathisers. The fourth son kills himself during the student revolution of 1960 and his son is imprisoned in the military coup the following year. Going through the filmmography of Jess Franco is never an easy thing because not only do you have to go through more than 200 movies but you've also got to go through countless alternate versions. Sometimes films can have four or five alternate versions with newly shot scenes, alternate footage or footage thrown in from another director. In 1974 Franco made a film called EXORCISM, which was a very dark mix of sex, religion and violence. It was also released in a softer version under the title DEMONIAC and another version with XXX footage called SEXORCISMS. Then, in 1979, Franco took footage from EXORCISM and added a new plot around them and the end result is this film, THE SADIST OF NOTRE DAME.
