为(🕞)抗(📷)日(😃)而(🕺)落(☔)(luò(😳) )难(🛹)的(🌝)(de )东(🙁)北(běi )军二0六师卫队长(zhǎng )邓天(tiān )野，这天来到上(shàng )海十(shí )里洋场，寻(🌃)找(🧀)被(🛥)拐(🤮)卖(🎅)(mà(🔛)i )到(🏺)上(🔗)海(🚨)大(📜)世(🔷)界春乐园(yuán )的(de )妻子——著名的评(píng )剧(jù )皇后欧阳秋凤。邓天(tiān )野(📌)刚(〽)下(🎯)轮船，就被人(rén )监视(shì )。来到春乐园后(hòu )，班(bā(🕙)n )头(🍤)看(🚔)其来者不善(shàn )，指(zhǐ )使人(rén )来围攻邓天野。邓天野摆脱了他们的(de )纠(🚁)(jiū(💵) )缠(🥟)后(🧞)，来(😍)到(🚙)城(🥌)隍(🍺)庙(✒)九(🐴)(jiǔ(💺) )曲桥，与上海利(lì )得大(dà )舞台(tái )的南国歌星李秀(xiù )丽相(xiàng )遇，向她打(🐭)听(🤴)秋(🎓)(qiū(🆑) )凤(🎸)的(🌬)(de )下(😆)落(♋)。这(🧥)时(💀)，上海警(jǐng )察局的探长张成远来(lái )到(dào )他的身后，转眼间(jiān )李(lǐ )秀丽(🌔)已(👕)不知去向(xiàng )。邓(dèng )天野来到李秀丽演唱(chàng )的台(📮)(tá(📌)i )下，看到受大世(shì )界老(lǎo )板徐福鉴指使的(de )一伙(huǒ )警察(chá )来抓舞台老(🍎)板(🏇)邱(🤬)(qiū(🛄) )致(🏤)。邓(🕚)天(🍸)野(👥)趁(🎞)乱(👥)施展(zhǎn )超(chāo )群武功，救出李秀丽(lì )。随后来到福天(tiān )楼，救出(chū )被关押(🛥)在(😌)此(🖋)的(🎄)秋(📫)(qiū(👻) )凤(🎩)。警(🔣)卫(👬)涌(🤟)来，因寡(guǎ )不敌(dí )众，李秀丽、秋凤又(yòu )被抓回，秋凤为保贞(zhēn )节(jiē )跳(🎳)楼(👕)自尽。邓天野(yě )救(jiù )出李秀丽后，发(fā )誓要(yào )为(🤝)秋(🌼)凤报仇。邓天野(yě )杀上(shàng )春乐园，结果被(bèi )警察(chá )抓住。在遣返原(yuán )籍(🚉)的(🐙)(de )火(🎇)车(🌀)(chē(👣) )上(😣)，他(🐃)跳(✋)车(♏)断(🔣)镣(liào )，再闯大世界。但刚(gāng )推(tuī )开福天楼的大门，就(jiù )被枪顶住太阳穴(💓)(xué(📥) )，邓(🔀)(dè(🤕)ng )天(💶)野(🦎)(yě(💋) )与(💧)徐(🍪)福(🦒)鉴的众打(dǎ )手展(zhǎn )开殊死搏斗。当(dāng )他将(jiāng )枪口对准徐福鉴时，警察(😺)局(💞)杜局长的枪已(yǐ )对(duì )准了他。一场枪响(xiǎng )后(hò(🔆)u )，倒(🆖)下的不是邓(dèng )天野(yě )，而是杜局长。原来(lái )是张(zhāng )成远探长开枪打(dǎ(🚈) )死(👝)了(✴)(le )这(🎺)个(🆎)与(⚡)黑(🔧)社(💣)会(🐺)勾(🛂)(gōu )结的(de )败类(lèi )，徐福鉴终成邓(dèng )天野的刀下鬼，随后(hòu )张(zhāng )成远使用(🌈)“苦(🈚)肉(🥠)计(⚪)”放(😀)走(✋)了(🎊)邓(🧓)天(😸)野(💭)。邓天(tiān )野挥(huī )泪离开了上海，奔向(xiàng )东北抗日前线。

Sure, it's a simple trifle in film history, if even that, and seeing Sangue di sbirro today is at best mildly entertaining. For although made in the heyday of the Italian crime genre this one is no zenith. Dan Caputo (George Eastman of dubious Antropophagus-fame) arrives in New York to avenge the death of his father, a cop involved with the mafia. Dan clears up the murder (and kills what seem like some 30 people) with help of local mob boss Duke (Jack Palance) and then flies back to wherever he came from. Possibly there is a bit more to the story, but the script is so confused so there is little point in trying to describe the goings-on. Suffice to say there is a little romance, brief scenes childhood reminiscing, and a helluva lot of shoot outs. Some of which are quite exiting in a cheapo euro trash way. The highlight of the film is definitely the opening scene at the airport when Dan arrives during some sort of terrorist attack simply to shoot his way through it. All in all it's not a badly done revenge film technically, and it's clichéd in the best sense of the word, but it suffers from some seriously dragging scenes, and a poorly executed whodunit sub plot, which slows the whole thing down. Only recommended for the die-hard fan of Italian 70's crime films.

The Last Desperate Hours benefits immensely from two great leading performances; chiefly Antonio Sabato in the lead role. Sabato fits his character like a glove and comes across excellently as the detestable sleazebag at the centre of the film. He gets great backup from Pier Paolo Capponi as the lead cop on the case. The atmosphere created by Giorgio Stegani is just great and he manages to create an impression of Milan that is as downtrodden and corrupt as the lead character. The film features the Spaghetti style that most genre fans will appreciate - the score by Gianni Marchetti is truly memorable. The plot flows quickly throughout and none of the ninety minute running time is wasted. The director ensures that we always know the central figure is on a deadline and he keeps things interesting by keeping up the cat and mouse game between cop and criminal, as well as implementing a good few murder scenes - one involving a medical saw is a particular highlight! It all boils down to a surprising, yet fitting ending and overall this crime flick is one of the best Eurocrime entries that I've seen and is well worth the trouble of tracking down!
