A rare chance to see Annika Berg's first film which precedes 'Team Hurricane' and which is an almost hallucinatory experiment in image and sound. Young Julian is drifting around in a city that is at the same recognizable and adventurous, and where the real and the possible melts together in a romantic and sensory totality. He films everything with a small DV camera until he meets Sille who invites him on a holiday at a luxury hotel in the city center - the first in a series of chance encounters that unite in narrative abstraction. Colours, sound design and tactile materiality is the raw material of Berg's cinematic universe. The film is named after one of the founding principles of quantum physics, that uncertainty is a fundemental condition of the physical world. A girl and her brother needing to travel to their hometown some five hours from Tehran get a ride with a taxi-driver who also happens to be a mullah. On the wa,y they pick up another woman with a baby. In the course of conversation we learn that the girl worked as a nurse for an old man who had attempted to have a relationship with her, an advance that she rebuffed. Oddly enough the mullah believes her while her brother, fully aware of the old man's wealth, wants her to turn back. Appearances can be deceiving. Poetic-Suspense. Martin Skald (Nils Oliveto) is an ex-convict and a beloved fan of Edgar Allan Poe's poetry. Shortly after his release from prison, he is commissioned by a world-class smuggler (Serge Patry) to find three artifacts with supposedly supernatural powers dating back from Francisco Pizarro's conquest of the Incas in the 1500's. Three years after his mission, which took him to Europe, South America and Africa, Martin's assignment comes back to haunt him through a mysterious memoir given to him by a homeless gentleman. Martin feels like a marked man, a sentiment enhanced by a higher level of anxiety resulting from the reading of Poe's book and the bewildering events described in the compelling personal journal.
