School-going Chandrabhan lives a poor lifestyle with his widowed mom in a small town in India, and has a childhood sweetheart named Lata, who is the daughter of the wealthy Deputy. Chandrabhan is heartbroken when Lata leaves town, and he has only a time-piece left with him as a token of their friendship. Years later, Chandrabhan has grown up, and has found employment in a guitar and musical instrument repair shop run by the owner and his friend, Prakash. Chandrabhan, a frequent reader of poetry, is fascinated by the poems of Renuka Devi, and longs to meet her. He does get to meet her, only to find out that the woman in reality is her friend, Basanti, who was impersonating her, as she had fallen in love with him, though he has no similar feelings for her. He does get to meet Renuka Devi, and is pleasantly surprised when he finds out that she is none other than Lata herself. Before Chandrabhan could plan anything else, he finds out that Prakash is getting engaged to Lata; Prakash's mother hates him; and he decides to return home along with his ailing mom. The question remains will Lata and Chandrabhan be re-united in this lifetime? In a film that was closer to being a "sanitized" version of and contained more elements akin to Mae West's and W.C. Fields' "My Little Chickadee" than it did from anything John Ford had done, or was to do, a traveling show arrives in a small Arizona town and finds much opposition from local townspeople. They plan to stage the show in the saloon and the leading lady, Katie (Martha O'Driscoll), gets involved with the local school teacher, Tod (Noah Beery, Jr). and a mysterious masked bandit, King Randall (Leo Carrillo). This movie is an early horror film classic and certainly one that a well-rounded horror movie aficionado should not miss. An invalid concert pianist dies, leaving a will that does not include his personal secretary Hilary Cummins (Peter Lorre) as a beneficiary. Furious, the left-out yes-man cuts off a hand from the corpse and plots revenge. Unfortunately for Hilary, the hand inherits a life of its own and relentlessly stalks the wild-eyed Lorre as he flees in vain. Special effects keep the audience jumping as they dread the next appearance of this gruesome walking hand. She hires recovering alcoholic Dave Nash as foreman and a crew of Ivey's enemies. Ivey fights back with violence and destruction, but Dave is determined to counter him legally... a feeling not shared by his associates. Connie's boast that, as a woman, she doesn't need guns proves justified, but plenty of gunplay results. Shortly after WWII, flashbacks tell the story of Marise, her husband Paul, and Jean, who was imprisoned with Paul in a German camp. While attempting to escape from the camp Paul is shot, and Jean goes to see Marise, confirming the news she had gotten already about Paul's death. Jean has fallen in love with Marise through the stories Paul told him, and wants to stay with her in the seaside town in Brittany where Paul owned a small business.
