As he restores the painting, he begins to have strange flashbacks, as if he were the painter himself. Meanwhile, he is developing a relationship with the painting's lovely owner (Laura Morante). The painting is a picture of the girl's grandmother, and as the restoration progresses, both he and the girl begin to reenact the stormy relationship between the painter and his subject, as if they were possessed. One interesting feature of this film is that the dialogue alternates between Spanish and French. A group of people wander through the forest, unaware that they are headed for an encounter with a giant spider. The giant spider can also take the form of a sorceress (or maybe it's the other way around). The sorceress has a group of zombie servants. The zombies engage in a machine gun battle at the end of the film. This movie is based on the true story that made headlines all over the world: the story of a relationship gone sour between a Japanese man very much in love with a French model. Some time later, it was discovered that the woman was turned into "sushi." At that time the man had already eaten a few body parts. To the arresting officers in Paris, he justified his acts as a proof of profound passion. In the late 80's many books and films find inspiration by the sinister love story. Culinary journalists Shirou Yamaoka and Yuko Kurita must prepare the menu that will represent the Touzai Newspaper on an upcoming competition with the Teito Newspaper. The theme: food that promotes longevity.
